serving Westmoreland.jpg

As you probably know, this week Westmoreland was hit with a tornado that destroyed nearly 2 dozen homes. This Sunday, May 5, instead of regular youth group, we would love to take the opportunity to serve and help out this community. Here is the plan:

3:00p - meet at the youth building and go over a few instructions
3:15p - load up the church vans to head out
4:00p-6:00p - work and help however we can (13700 Robson Road)
6:00p - head back to the youth building
6:30/45ish - arrive back at the youth building

Any student coming will need to sign up here; This will help us know numbers and transportation.

We will be helping clean out the pastures where the tornado stopped. When it stopped, it dumped all of the debris. If you own work boots/shoes, please wear them. You must have close toed shoes. It might be a little bit muddy. There is tall grass so you will want to wear jeans. If you have work gloves, please bring them. Please dress appropriately to be working outside. We will have water and snacks, but would be a good idea to bring a refillable water bottle. If our vans fill up, we will have students ride with our adult volunteers. If you are not comfortable with that, and would like to make sure your student is in a church van, please let me know.

Recap of things needed to wear:
- work boots/shoes (closed toed shoes that can get muddy at a minimum)
- jeans
- appropriate clothing to work outside in the weather.
- work gloves if you have any

***If you are a student who plans to volunteer, I will need a medical release form. If you have filled one out in the past year, that will work!*** You can fill this out at this link,

Students who live near Westmoreland are welcome to meet us at the corner of Flush and Highway 24 and then go with us out to the property. We should arrive there around 3:45.

If for some reason we aren't needed come Sunday or the weather makes it so we can't work we will go back to having regular youth group and I will communicate that ASAP through social media, texts, email.

If you have questions, email Bryan, or text/call him at 316-305-1569.
